Pastor Kathy Stoner-Lasala began her pastorate with us on August 3, 2014.
Interim Director of Christian Education
Ann is a longstanding member of Faith Church. She has also served as a Ruling Elder and Clerk of Session, as well as the VBS Director for many summers. Ann has been a stalwart on the Christian Education Committee. We are happy that when the CE Director position became vacant, she was willing to step up and lend her talents to overseeing our Christian Education program from nursery to preschoolers, to school-aged children, youth, and adults. She has also directed the annual Children’s Christmas Pageant. She keeps our church equipped with everything from up-to-date computers to curricula and white boards. Ann knows how to get things done! She can even chase a cow or two (she farms). She has taken courses in Education from Monmouth College, and has a degree in Agricultural Economics as well as a law degree from the University of Illinois.
Director of Wednesday Night Live
A career elementary school teacher, newly retired, Deb has been an answer to prayer as Director of Wednesday Night Live. Although this is her first full year in this position, she has handled it like a veteran, using her summer to pick out a Fruit of the Spirit-themed program and to start the shopping and planning for the next Wednesday Night Live season, which kicks off each year in September and runs through November and then January through March. Her years of experience in teaching make her a firm yet gentle and very effective leader who loves children and loves the Lord.
Stephanie has been our enthusiastic Youth Director for several years. She has three active children of her own, including a teen-age son and is an ordained Deacon. She has led the youth on several mission trips, including Youth Works and has involved our kids with 30-Hour Famine and Crop Walk, as well as continuing our annual Crockpot Cook-off and the Eastertide Breakfast, which help them raise funds for their mission projects. This year the youth will be leading the Ecumenical Lenten Lay Breakfast worship service in March and the youth will be doing the entire worship service in church on Youth Sunday in May.

Director of Music
We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have the fine musical talent of Dick Griffiths. He’s Professor Emeritus of Music from Monmouth College and has been directing college and church choirs for most of his life. His knowledge of music is amazing and his personality magnetic so that we never have a problem getting people to join the choir. He also takes the trouble to seek out specially qualified music assistants and special musicians from his repertoire of many contacts to enrich our expressions of worship. Dick is also an ordained Ruling Elder.
Barb has been our organist since June 2001. An alumna of Monmouth College, she is an outstanding organist and an all-around smart lady who is very dedicated. She is definitely in command of our 36-rank Reuter organ. She was mentored by Elwood Ball, past organist and music director at Faith, and continues to study organ with Linda Andrews, Macomb. Barb is also an ordained Ruling Elder at Faith, served as Clerk of Session, and was the youth music director for many years. She recently retired after 34 years of teaching vocal music and beginning band in the Yorkwood and United school districts.
Gene is our go-to guy when something needs fixing. He is the foe of long blades of grass or inches of snow or a thermostat out of adjustment. He and his wife Donna also do some of the heavier floor cleaning jobs around the church. Gene has an honest heart and loves people and the Lord. You are just as likely to find him in a Bible study as at the other end of a wrench. He is an ordained Ruling Elder and has served on the Worship and Nominating Committees.
Robert Blackford started working at the church in 2015. Prior to that he was the Editor of The Times Record newspaper in Aledo Illinois for 14 years from 2001-2015.
